Photographic documentation of two 'chalet fields' in the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. These groups of  houses are representative of a widespread type of working class housing provision that was common across the UK from the 1920s onwards. In Britain they can be called Plotlands. This book seems to be the first time that a detailed visual record of this important aspect of working class culture has been published. Accompanied by an insightful interview with architect Owen Short who has worked on the evolution of these houses in the last 5 or so decades.
