Engraved portrait of Shakespeare by Hall laid-on to the front flyleaf verso. "Second edition" inscribed on title page. Early/contemporary manuscript character list on title page verso. Autograph of "John Crump" at head of A2 recto. Stamped armorial bookplate with the motto "Nec ab ordine cedunt" (arms and motto of the Buckworth family of Cley, Norfolk) on front pastedown. Armorial bookplate of the Barton Library on rear pastedown. Edges trimmed closely, with some losses to signatures and catchwords.

Early/contemporary inscription on I4. This copy measures 21 cm. Many edges untrimmed. Upper margin of title page repaired.
