Subject: Wonderful Story/Sewing Book!
This is a girl's story book which teaches sewing. A little girl is given a doll and a trunk of cloth and sewing materials--called "Thimble People" who then teach her how to sew a set of doll clothes, including a wedding dress. It's a lot of fun and says a great deal about the childhood of a girl of that period. It includes paper patterns for each outfit and even illustrates decorative embroidery. It's really unusual and it must have been a great gift at the time.
