"The 'Confessions' themselves have ever been a favourite Christian study. St. Augustine says of them himself, 'The thirteen books of my Confessions praise God, Holy and Good, on occasion of that which has in me been good or evil, and raise up man's understanding and affections to Him: for myself, they did so while they were being written, and now do, when read. Let others think ofthem, as to them seems right; yet that they have and do much please many brethren, I know.'"

Subject: Too bad it's translated by Anglican/protestant schismatic heretics
Subject: Too bad it's translated by Anglican/protestant schismatic heretics
Got a ways into this before seeing the small print stating this was translated by Anglicans(members of the "english church") aka schismatic heretics with a worldly monarch as the head(so ironic but schismatics are so blind) of their freemason/druid infested husk of a church they CALL Christian. This was just a pretense for the pirate/drug/usury empire aka "protector of protestantism". By their fruits you will know them indeed.
Heretics like this do all they can to mistranslate both scripture, which they have so little regard for, and writings of the Fathers, whose church they broke away from, preferring that God come to them on their terms. For instance, altar was mistranslated as table by Luthifer and his greedy civil protectors in Germany and England. This was to destroy the Mass as a sacrifice of real presence and turn it into a dead memorial. They later, after the damage done, changed it back. Also Our Lady is minimized where they can do it. Of course this is all on par with the Jews minimizing Daniel, Machabees, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus, Tobias and other books just like the schismatic protestant heretic Bibles. Salvation through faith alone is another heretic doctrine, negating St James teachings. Ok go to work in usury, war profiteering, etc and as long as you have faith in Jesus Christ you'll be fine, talk about a double minded hypocrite.
Another example is St Augustines Handbook of Faith, Hope and Charity. It's deliberately mistranslated as Faith, Hope and LOVE. This is the version in the Calvinist CCEL collection. As anyone who knows their Catechism and both Catholic and Schismatic(KJV) Bibles it's Charity not Love. Also the 3 theological virtues of Holy Church are Faith, Hope and Charity. Love is good, but to mistranslate it makes it seem like a hippie like celebration of drug ecstasy. Makes no sense in context of the book while reading either.
Still there may be some good here. But for any Catholic, books like these should have the Imprimatur and be translated by Catholics. Otherwise it's just questionable and of doubtful accuracy.
