"This collection was originally made by Laurence Nowell, who going abroad in 1657 [i.e. 1557?] left it to Lambarde to translate and publish"--Clarke, Bibliotheca legum.

The "Leges Willielmi Conquestoris, et Henrici filii eius" (2 p. 153-216 col.) are in Anglo-Norman and Latin, and have "Praefatio" signed: Roger Twysden.

Includes errata.
