Susan E. Henking (b. 1955) is an American scholar of religious and LGBT studies, and the 14th president of Shimer College in Chicago. She holds a BA from Duke University, and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Prior to becoming president of Shimer, she taught at Hobart and William Smith Colleges for more than 20 years, also holding numerous administrative positions. In addition to authoring innumerable popular and scholarly articles in various fields, she has coedited two major edited volumes in religious studies, Que(e)rying Religion: A Critical Anthology (1997) and Mourning Religion (2008).
