About the Book

The book is a four volume course designed mainly for the grown-up students of the Russian language. The first book contains fifty lessons and deals with the fundamentals of Russian phonetics and the language. Second book also contains fifty lessons and it is a continuation of Book One as far as the grammar and the vocabulary is concerned. Third Book has thirty-five lessons and it contains extracts from the stories, poems, and novels of Soviet (now mainly Russian) authors. The aim of this third book is to make the student enjoy the easy Russian literature in the original. Book four is a book of reference. It contains grammatical tables and the key to the exercises and a Russian-English vocabulary. Learning Russian is excellent for the students studying without a teacher.
