This is a kit, and book set from the 'Beakman's World: Build With Beakman' series. It consists of; A book, a watch with openable back, a wire with connectors on each end, a box, and a sticker. Besides the illustrations and text, the book has images of the actors and penguin puppets with speech balloons, with helpful information, or silly comments. The book tells the reader how to make the watch work using the connectors, and placing them into slices of a potato. It then tells about how to set the time, and date. There is then a explanation of how batteries work, and how the potato is being used as a battery. Next there are a series of drawings and discriptions of various batteries. There is an explanation of when to change the potato or a newer one, and possible sollutions if it isn't working. It then suggests various other matterials to experiment with to see if they will work as a battery. The LCD screen of the watch is then discribed, and a explanation of 'Mood rings'. The last page is of the two penguins with speech bubble, telling a potato joke.

The book is written by Luann Colombo writing as if she were Beakman, addressing the reader directly. The book is illustrated by Peter Georgeson, and mentions the art being based an episode of "Beakman's World. Peter Georgeson and Suzanne Brooker are credited with the design of the book. Its Electronic Production was done by Suzanne Brooker and Sue Ann Harkey. The actors seen in the photographs are Paul Zaloom as "Beakman", Mark Ritts as "Lester", and Eliza Jane Schneider as "Liza". This book is part of a series of the "Beakman's World" products, they are all based on the original newspaper feature, 'You Can with Beakman & Jax' by Jok Church.
