With historical introduction by the interviewer, photograph of Dr. Porter, appended documentary material concerning the Langley Porter Clinic, and bibliography. Dr. Porter's recollections of medical eduation in the U.S. and abroad, his work in San Francisco clinics, public health problems in San Francisco, work in communicable diseases, deanship of the University of California Medical School, and establishment of the Langley Porter Clinic.
