A description of the bronze at the Chateau de Versailles conceived by Titon du Tillet and executed by Louis Garnier as a monument celebrating French artists, musicians and writers active during the reign of Louis XIV.

BN and Brunet list this work without the "Suite du Parnasse François" and "De nos acteurs & actrices célébres de la comédie & de l'opera" supplements with same imprint and date.

"Les p. 661-672 constituent un supplément pour les années 1733-1734. -- ... On trouve, insérées entre les p. LXXX et LXXXI, 8 pages non chiffrées, à l'exception de la 1re paginée LXXXI ..."--BN.

Supplement "Suite du Parnasse François, jusqu'en 1743. Et quelques autres piéces qui ont rapport à ce monument" with divisional title page follows inserted 1733-1734 supplement on 2 unnumbered pages, and p. 673-786. Running title for this main part of the work reads: Ordre chronologique des poetes et des musiciens.

A further supplement (p. 789-832) follows 3 inserted blank pages with seperate caption title: De nos acteurs & actrices célébres de la comédie & de l'opera, que la mort a enlevés ou qui ont quitté le thét̂re. Running title for this work reads: Des acteurs et actrices célébres de la comédie et de l'opera.

Final supplemtary pages (p. [i-xcvii]) have divisional title page with separate pagination and register reading: remarques sur la poësie et la musique, et sur l'excellence de ces deuz beaux arts, avec des observations particulieres sur la poësie et la musique Françoise, et sur nos sepctacles.

Frontispiece portrait before half-title page signed by P. Largillière and F. Petit; engraved plate facing title page illustrating Mount Parnassus signed by N. Tardieu. 12 leaves of engraved plates between p. 32 and 33 engraved by L. Crepy; other engraved portraits of such figures as Molière, Corneille, Racine, Lully, and La Fontaine are signed by E. Desrochers and are all in the first original 660 pages.
