The treaty was negotiated and drafted by Lords Commissioners appointed to the task (by Queen Anne for England and Wales and by the Scottish Parliament for Scotland), their draft being completed July 22, 1706. It was ratified, with minor amendments, by Scotland on Jan. 16, 1707, and by England and Wales, without further amendment, on Mar. 6, 1707, effecting the union of the two nations as Great Britain on May 1, 1707.
Appendices (p. 103-119): 1. Act for securing the Protestant religion and Presbyterian Church government.--2. Act for securing the Church of England as by law established.--3. Act settling the manner of electing the sixteen peers and forty five commoners to represent Scotland in the Parliament of Great Britain.
