This is one of the few artists manifesto's that was produced in the mid 1980s (According to a Coracle Press book The Artist Publisher)
It applies principles of the liberation movements of the times, especially ant-racism, to the situation of artists. An insight into the exploitation of the artists, as a section of the working class, that is still relevant today.
The rhetoric here is informed by the author being a member of Brixton Artist Collective, 1983 - 87 and also of Re-evaluation Counselling.
