Art historian Paola Barocchi is professor emerita at the Scuola normale superiore di Pisa. An expert on Renaissance and Mannerist art, Barocchi authored influential publications on Rosso Fiorentino, Vasari, Michelangelo, and on artistic literature. She advocated for the use of computers in art history research and headed the Centro di elaborazione automatica di dati e documenti storico-artistici at the Scuola normale.
