Edition Notes
Holograph, signed with initials.
Deborah Weston is to tell Mr. E. [John F. Emerson] that Maria Weston Chapman is "entirely ready & happy to assume any responsibility about the publication of the letter, that he thinks right." Maria W. Chapman believes that "he would not wish to appear to Mr. P [Amos Augustus Phelps] in any other light than as the exposer of that letter." Caroline Weston is back from Philadelphia. Chapman comments: "L[ucretia] Mott all right. Penn. will sympathise with us."
