A medical journal which proposed to be a full and faithful record of the improvements in the medical profession. It published original papers, reports of cases at Louisville Marine Hospital and in private practice, reviews of new works in all branches of medicine, and medical news. After a short life, it was merged with the Western Journal of the Medical and Physical Sciences to form the Western Journal of Medicine and Surgery. Cf. American periodicals, 1741-1900.
