Hughes, Gloria John Hunt, Robert Underwood Johnson, Miss Le Strange, Robert M. McClure, H.B. Marriott-Watson, Mrs. Maunsell, Christie Murray, Douglas-Murray, Miss Perry, Mrs. John Tavenor Perry, Edith Nesbit, William Henry Rideing, Mrs. Humphrey Ward and Frank I. Whitney. Letters written by Rudyard Kipling and related correspondence collected by Mr. William M. Carpenter.

Also includes correspondence from W.M. Carpenter to Rudyard Kipling, Maggs Brothers and Inkerman Rogers and correspondence from Kipling's secretaries D. Gardner Smith and M.E. Walford to Mr. Carpenter. Also includes letter from Kipling's secretary J.L. Coates to Messrs. Elkin Matthews. Also includes correspondence from M.C. Plowden to Maggs Bros. and to W.M. Carpenter regarding the Kipling item "Plot and Passion". Includes letter from Cormell Price to B.J. Stearns Brown dated August 8, 1899. Miscellaneous items include telegram draft from Nov. 13, 1890 to Hooper of Thacker, Spinx & Co., newspaper clipping from the Saturday Evening Post from June 20, 1925 with group portrait of Rudyard Kipling addressing a meeting at the Mansion House, London, holograph manuscript of dramatisation of Kipling's "The butterfly that stamped" written by Joan Bywater, age 12, accompanying a letter to Kipling from her teacher Miss Hughes, and exemplar of William M. Carpenter's bookplate. Also includes copies of two letters from Lucile Russell Carpenter to Frederick Goff from 1941 and 1955 regarding the gift and use of this collection. Oversize material consists of a copy of the Sept. 19, 1895 issue of "The youth's companion" referred to in Dec. 31, 1895 letter from Kipling to W.H. Rideing.

Title devised by Library staff. Originally housed in two volumes with spine titles: Miscellaneous letters.

Finding aid consists of list of contents (9 p.) compiled by Library staff laid in container. Accompanied by notebook: "Transcripts of autograph letters of Rudyard Kipling" compiled by W.M. Carpenter of typewritten transcripts of 36 of the Kipling letters.
