Edition Notes

A collection of 40 political satires in the form of dialogues, each with 8 pages of text and with title vignettes etched by Romeyn de Hooghe. Title for the first part serving as title page for the whole work. Parts not numbered on title pages, but assigned numbers in list on last page of work (part [40], p. 8).

Chiefly directed against Louis XIV at the beginning of the War of Spanish Succession.

Binding, c.1: old polished calf; gilt spine; stained edges.
