In two parts, forming vol. XIV of the Publications of the English dialect society.
Part I, words from A to E, has at head of title: Publications of the Manchester literary club. Part II, F to Z, has cover-title with imprint: London, Pub. for the English dialect society, by Trübner & co., 1882. The publication of a third and concluding part to contain chapters on the literature, grammar and pronunciation of the dialect [etc.] announced in a Prefatory note to pt.II was abandoned (cf. English dialect society. [Publicatins] vol. XXXIII, Suggestins for the binding of the volumes)
The two parts of the Glosssry are paged continuously, p. 123 being repeated in pt.II; in this copy the English dialect society's "Ninth annual report for the year 1881" (23 p.) is bound in after the cover-title of pt.II, preceding p. 123.
