Edition Notes

The Relacion de las fabulas y ritos de los Incas of Cristóbal de Molina of Cuzco was written about 1572. The version given here is from the manuscript copy in the Biblioteca nacional in Lima, made for Felix Cipriano Coronel Zegarra, from the manuscript in the Biblioteca nacional in Madrid (E 13.135) It was translated into English and edited by Sir Clement R. Markham for the Hakluyt society and published in London, 1873, under title: Narrative of the rites and laws of the Incas.
The Relacion de la conquista y población del Peru of Cristóbal de Molina of Santiago de Chile was written in Lima about 1552. It was published for the first time in 1873 in Santiago, by Diego Barros Arana in the periodical Sud-America. cf. p. xxx.
