About the Book

James A. Mollison is a famous Scottish pilot from the late twenties and early thirties who, among other records he set and feats he accomplished, was the first person to fly the North Atlantic solo from east to west in August 1932. Lindbergh had flown the Atlantic solo west to east in 1927 but crossing that ocean east to west is more demanding because of prevailing winds.
