Colour wood-engraved illustrations and plate include hand-colouring. Most are unsigned. One illustration is signed "E.W.S.".

Colour wood-engraved plate is similar to that printed in black in "Cassell's Illustrated Exhibitor containing about three hundred illustrations, with letter-press descriptions of all the principal objects in the International Exhibition of 1862", published in 1862 by Cassell, Petter, & Galpin. See McLean Q 0056, p. 204.

Colour wood-engraved plate is similar to that printed in black on a sheet of advertisement entitled: "Upon view at Dobson and Pearce, 19, St. James's Street, glass manufacturers to the Queen, sole manufacturers of the flower glasses, designed by Mr. March, for which, as arranged above, was granted the first special prize for dinner table decoration by the Royal Horticultural Society.". MASS copy: Bound in white paper-covered boards. Upper cover printed in colours with the titling, a rustic floral border and wood-engraved illustrations similar to those within the text. Upper cover with imprint: "Harrison 59 Pall Mall London".
