Edition Notes

A reissue of the sheets of the first edition, published by Richard Barrett in 1706 under the title: 'A treatise of the eyes: .. ', with a new titlepage and with the titlepage to the second section (M1) excised.

Books I-IX (pp.24-162) are reprinted from the second part of 'A treatise of one hundred and thirteene diseases of the eyes, .. ', published by Richard Bannister in 1622, itself a translation of Jacques Guillemeau's 'Traité des maladies de l'œil' first published in Paris in 1585.
