Edition Notes

Titlepages in red and black.

The compiler's name and the imprint are both fictitious.

A pirated edition, consisting of the text sheets of 'An universal dictionary of the English language' which was published without a compilers name and printed by Alexander Donaldson and John Reid, Edinburgh, 1763; two new titlepages have been substituted and the Preface and final advertisement leaf of the Edinburgh edition omitted.
