About the Book

This is a missionary's account of her and her husband's work in the early 1900s in the Transkei area of Nkanga in South Africa. Emily Green was a woman before her time - she graduated with a BA from Manchester University's Owens College in 1895. He brother was Hewlett Johnson aka The red dean of Canterbury. The book has been scanned by the International Archives of SIM. This can be accessed on-line.
