Whereas the General Assembly have in their present session passed an Act to prohibit the departure of all ships and vessels from any port or place within the province ... We have therefore thought fit, in Council, to issue this proclamation; hereby giving publick notice of the aforesaid act ... Given at the Council-chamber in Boston the seventh day of April 1757 ..
