500 $a"The Note Books of Percy Bysshe Shelley were presented by Lady Shelley to the late Doctor Richard Barnett, of the British Museum, and at the sale of his library were acquired by me. Mr. H. Buxton Forman and Mr. W. M. Rossetti were the ones who could transcribe and annotate the note Books to the best advanteage for students of Shelley's works, and with the request that the Bibliophile Society secure the services of one or both of these gentlemen I permitted their first publication by that Society with the understanding that by changing the title-page and omitting the Bibliophile imprints I should be allowed to privately print two hundred and fifty copies for presentation purposes, and that the copyrights should be assigned to me."
