Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy halfbound in early wooden boards and tawed skin (likely goat or sheep). The original brass catch is present on the upper cover. The lower cover has been partially restored with a modern cherry board. The spine is rebacked in modern brown morocco. The BPL gift bookplate of Theodore Parker is present on the verso of the upper cover. The recto of the first leaf (blank) contains numerous early inscriptions and autographs. The autographs include that of Theodore Parker, Johann Fabricius (dated 1570), and David Fabricius ("Pro M. Joanni Fabricio, 1570. Nunc Filius h[abe]t[?] M. David Fabricius"). The latter inscription may is posited by the cataloging agency to be the ownership mark of the Lutheran minister and telescopic astronomer David Fabricius. Also present on the title page is the ink stamp of Garrigue and Christern. The embossed stamp of the Library is present on the first leaf of the main text. On the recto of the same leaf is a full-page manuscript table of contents. Early marginalia and early inscriptions are present throughout the text. Initial spaces remain blank and the chapter headings are numbered in early manuscript. The spine is lined in medieval manuscript waste and an article from More books/BPL quarterly is laid onto the inside of the lower cover. All 128 leaves are present, though the condition of the binding precludes examination of the sewing structure.
