Originally published in 24 monthly parts, 1814-1816.

In one state, the words "Introductory dialogue" on p. [1] of v. 1 are set in hollow Roman capitals, & the 1st line of the poem has the reading: "Father Time! 'tis well we're met"; in another state the words "Introductory dialogue" are set in solid Roman capitals, and the 1st line of the poem has the reading: "Father Time! 'tis well we are met."
