Francesca Cahill is an American heiress. She also happens to be a political activist and an amateur sleuth (detective). Francesca finds out that there a girl missing from the streets and she fears that she may have been abducted.
Along with finding her, she has also accepted Calder Harts proposal for marriage which puts her on the outs with Rick, the police commissioner and Harts brother. However, they must put aside their differences when they find out that not only one girl has gone missing, but several, and they must find them before it is too late.
