It draws on Hartmut B\u00f6hme\u2019s notion of literature as a discursive system of actions and symbols that contributes to the self-reflection of societies, even though \u2013 or rather precisely because \u2013 the \u2018disturbing\u2019 character of literature is tolerated and controlled to a certain extent. The analyses gathered in this volume look at contemporary European literature and focus on the question of how experiences of migration are thematized and aesthetically shaped in literary texts. In doing so, concepts of migrant identity, transcultural topographies of memory, phenomena of drawing and transgressing boundaries/borders, as well as notions of in-between spaces come into focus. Particular attention is paid to questions regarding the possibility of a \u201cpoetics of migration\u201d by examining textual phenomena such as polyperspectivity, forms of multilingualism, and techniques of pseudo-translation through the lens of transcultural narratology.\n\nDer Sammelband er\u00f6ffnet innovative und differenzierte Perspektiven auf das gesellschaftspolitisch brisante Ph\u00e4nomen der Migration, indem das \u201eSpielfeld\u201c der Literatur und damit k\u00fcnstlerische bzw. fiktionale Texte in den Blick genommen werden. Dabei wird Literatur im Sinne Hartmut B\u00f6hmes als diskursives Handlungs- und Symbolsystem verstanden, das zu einer Selbstbeobachtung von Gesellschaften beitr\u00e4gt, obwohl \u2013 oder vielmehr weil \u2013 ihr St\u00f6rcharakter bis zu einem gewissen Grad toleriert und kontrolliert wird. Im Mittelpunkt der Analysen zu ausgew\u00e4hlten Texten europ\u00e4ischer Gegenwartsliteraturen steht die Frage, wie in literarischen Texten Migrationserfahrungen thematisiert und \u00e4sthetisch gestaltet werden. Auf diese Weise r\u00fccken zum einen migratorische Identit\u00e4tsentw\u00fcrfe, transkulturelle Erinnerungstopographien, Ph\u00e4nomene von Grenzziehung und Grenz\u00fcbertritt sowie Zwischenr\u00e4ume im Sinne des \u201ethird space\u201c in das Blickfeld.
