Edition Notes

Title in French (leaf [1]), added title in Italian (leaf [2]), and "Avis/avvsio" (leaf [5]) are engraved. Leaves [3] and [4] are a letterpress notice in French and Italian respectively by the engraver Pierre Jacques Gaultier, who identifies the author as M. Petitot, architect to the Infant D. Philippe of Parma.

"In Parma, MDCCLVIII, nella stamperia di Filippo Carmignani"--Colophon.

Text printed in double columns, French and Italian.

Binding: modern marbled paper, backed in calfskin. Author & date in gilt on red spine label.

Property stamp of Th. Flechet, archte., dated in MS 1807. Leonard Baskin's printed labels for Fort Hill and Lurley Manor on front pastedown, and "T. Trace?" [Timothy Trace, bookseller] written in Baskin's hand on back pastedown.
