Printed on rice paper.
Legends are printed on guard tissues facing plates. Eng. of Marguerite has "Marguerite abondonée" printed on tissue guard facing it and no legend as part of the plate, as is also the case for plates "Madame de la Tour," "Virginie," and "Paul," etc., each printed as a legend on the tissue guard and with no legend on their plates. There is no vignette "Une bonne femme" (the first Mme. Curmer) on India paper forming the tail-piece of p. 418.
