Nama Panglima Salleh teruir dalam sejarah tanahair kerana kepahlawanan menentang pasukan komonis yang bermaharajalela di kawasan selatan tanhair khususnya di Johor. Peristiwa berdarah tragik ini berlaku di sekitar penghujung zaman Perang Dunia Kedua. Nama Panglima Salleh telah menjadi 'sinonim' dengan selempang merah kerana di situlah lambang kegagahan dan kepahlawanan beliau.
Novel sejarah ini membawa kembali kenang- kenangan kegemilangan dan kepahlawanan bangsa Melayu masa lalu.
Semangat perjuangan dan tuntutan keilmuan dapat menghapuskan kembali keutuhan dan ketahanan bangsa Melayu di mata dunia.
