One of the most beautifully written books I've read. Iain has captured his life in the west highlands in this short read perfectly. Full of humour without detracting from the reality of this hard and primitive life less than fifty years ago. Very sad that this isolated home no longer exists due to the building of a dam at Loch Monar. I totally recommend this read - I have read several times now AND visited this most wonderful scene, feeling as though I know every inch of it!
