Offering a reward of five hundred dollars for the apprehension of Charles Julian de Longchamps, for his assaults upon the Sieur de Marbois, secretary of the legation from France to the U.S., and consul general of France. The General Assembly responded to this incident with "An act for the preserving the privileges of public ministers of foreign princes and states," Sept. 28, 1784.
