Leonard Lee was born in 1902 and educated at Princeton. He wrote a number of stories for The Saturday Evening Post in the 1930s, and in the 1940s he became one of the contributing authors to the Sherlock Holmes radio program. He was most successful as a screenwriter in Hollywood, California, where he wrote the screenplay for Dressed to Kill, The Fat Man, Spy Hunt, The Glass Web, and many others.
