K. Panoor

10 January 1927 -

He was a deputy collector in the revenue department, when asked to work among the 'Adivasi' (Aboriginals) in the Wayanadu district of Kerala. By seeing the struggles these communities going through, caused by the oppressors from the main land Kerala, he first wrote 'Keralathile Africa' in 1963. He was awarded with the Ramasramam award in 2002 for his contributions to the Adivasi communities.
