David P. Barash is Professor of Psychology emeritus at the University of Washington.
He works in the fields of evolutionary biology, animal behaviour, and Peace Studies, focussing on the effects of biology on differences between males and females, reproductive strategies and violence.
He has written some books on Peace Studies with his wife Judith E. Lipton, of which "The Caveman and the Bomb" is said to have influenced Mikhail Gorbachev views on nuclear war (according to Georgyi Arbatov, Gorbachevs senior adviser).
According to his website he has written more 200 published technical papers, 40 books and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
