Raynetta Manees

1951 -

Raynetta Manees was born and raised in Detroit, and is a graduate of Wayne State University, with a degree in Mass Communications. She retired as a Federal government executive administrator after a 28 year career. Raynetta now writes full time.

Raynetta’s short novel, All The Way Home, is now available as an eBook. Raynetta is particularly proud of this release as it features a lovely plus size (size 18) heroine.

Raynetta’s book, Follow Your Heart, is also now available in eBook format on Amazon (Kindle) and Barnes and Noble (Nook).

Raynetta is the best-selling author of six print published novels (see full list below) and is happy to announce that all of her books will soon be available as e-Books on Kindle and on Barnes and Raynetta is currently working on her seventh print novel.

Raynetta had published several short stories and newspaper articles before her first novel; ALL FOR LOVE was published in 1996. ALL FOR LOVE was a finalist for the Best Contemporary Ethnic Romance of 1996, Affaire de Coeur Magazine, and made Ingram's list of best selling romance novels. ROMANTIC TIMES MAGAZINE said, "Raynetta Manees has written a warm, loving romance with the consummate skill of a veteran novelist. Her insight into the hearts of her characters makes ALL FOR LOVE a unique reading experience."

Raynetta’s love affair with the fields of entertainment and communication started at age five, when she began her performance career as a vocalist. She has performed as a solo artist in numerous venues in Detroit, Chicago, Lansing, and the Caribbean.

Her singing rapidly led to stage performances in musicals, which in turn led to numerous non-musical acting roles.

Raynetta was a 1994-1996 member of the Board of Directors of the Riverwalk Theater of Lansing, Michigan, and she has appeared on the Riverwalk stage in several productions, including "West Side Story", and was the leading lady in the Afro-American drama "Sty of the Blind Pig." She also appeared in the role of Mrs. Murphy in the Pulitzer Prize winning play "JB" at the Spotlight Theater in Grand Ledge, MI.

Raynetta’s acting led to an invitation to do commercial radio, and she was for two years an on-air personality on AM 1180, WXLA, in Lansing. Raynetta has also performed in radio and television commercials.

Still an admired and well known songstress, Raynetta was the 2009 winner of the Millennium Award for the Best Female Vocalist, and the 2011 winner of the Stallworth Award.

Raynetta Manees currently resides in Michigan with her significant other Douglas, a Registered Nurse (R.N.). She has an adult daughter, Tiffani, and grandchildren high school senior Zayna, and kindergartener Jeffery (AKA “Jellybean").
