Hattie McFadden Drummond

1866 -

Hattie Drummond grew up in Texas and had a daughter, Lorena, who eventually worked as Buckminster Fuller's secretary at Southern Illinois University. Lorena was married to Charles Jean, a successful businessman and prominent Republican from Anna, Illinois. In her later years, Hattie lived with Lorena and Charles in Anna. Hoot Owls and Orchids was an autobiography, which was published a year before her death at age of 91 in 1957.
