He was born in Bihar , India. Was very active in the freedom struggle in india against the british rule . Closely worked with jayprakash Narayan. He moved to Bombay and worked in Asiatic library and as a teacher. Finally starting his own publishing house under the name of ASIAN STUDIES PRESS and INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ASIAN STUDIES.
