EVER SINCE THE BIRTH of the automobile around the beginning of the last century, owners and others for hire have been modifying or "personalizing" cars in any number of ways, be it tying a raccoon tail to the windshield, adding a windshield, or bolting on a rearview mirror (or "cop spotter").
