Hunting ducks or geese in a crop field is popular with waterfowlers for several reasons: 1) No need for lugging your boat or motor, 2) No need for waders, 3) Spared from setting out dozens of decoys in water conditions that would send chills up the back of a freighter captain, 4) Access to hunting site is generally much easier, and 5) Birds, when working a field, often are in larger flocks, providing plenty of action.
