The narratives of Knight and Slover (p. [3]-39) were first published in The freeman's journal, Philadelphia, v. 3, no. 106 (Apr. 30, 1783)-109 (May 21, 1783), at the request of H.H. Brackenridge, by whom they were prepared for publication. They were issued in pamphlet form the same year at Philadelphia, under title: Narratives of a late expedition against the Indians ... The present reprint makes no mention of Brackenridge.
