Edition Notes

Estate sale held on the premises.

"There are two versions of the catalogue. Type B, which we take to be the more definitive and presumably the later one, has lot 11 on the second day as a copy after Correggio, whereas Type A gives the same lot as some portraits by Lucas van Leyden. Furthermore, lot 24a, a landscape by Dughet, does not appear in the earlier version. (See also Redford, Art Sales, 1888, I, pp.94-95.)"--Getty Provenance Index Databases.

Getty Research Institute's copy is "type A."
