Roger Kowalski is a French poet who was born in Lyon, France on August 31, 1934 and died there on September 6 1975. His first collection of poems, "Le Silenciare" appeared in 1960 and won the Aloysius Bertrand prize. Among his other collections were "Le Ban" (1964), "Les Hautes Erres" (1966) and "Sommeils" (1968). His "Poésies Complètes" (383 pp.) appeared in 2000. According to the "Encyclopédie Larousse," he created an avant-garde art gallery called "K" in Lyon in 1974.
