The Author has taken 100 Chapters, each Chapter being a complete story or subject in itself. Then he takes that personal family story or workplace happening and ties it into well-known individuals or events that took place with lots of photos from old newspapers etc.( with proper copyright permission). This is not your run-of-the mill, dry historical book of a bygone age. It's the Author, giving detailed experiences of how it was when you got out of bed and went out into the real world during the WWII Years and the 1950's & beyond.
The cover of this book, reflects a cold winter photo of the Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in downtown Altoona, PA. This magnificent structure has been the outstanding landmark in the skyline of Altoona, since it was built starting in 1926. Final construction did not end until the 1960's due to the depression and lack of funds by the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
