All etched plates are with imprint: "London. Published by Wm. S. Orr & Co.". All except two of these imprints include the date "1845" and about half also include a month from January to November.

Some plates are with imprint: "Kenny Meadows" or signature: "K. Meadows" or "Kenney Meadows fecit".

Each plate is accompanied by a leaf of letterpress text.

Illustrations by Kenny Meadows were originally published in "The works of Shakspere" published in 1843 by Robert Tyas and printed by Vizetelly and Co. Cf. RLIN.

MASS copy: Bound in half red morocco and marbled paper-covered boards; a.e. marbled. Edges of morocco tooled in blind and spine tooled in gold. With marbled endpapers. Inside of upper free endpaper with stamp: "Bound by Lewis & Sons 9 Gough Square Fleet Street London".
