"Although this book is written in language aimed at parents of children with a developmental disability such as autism and/or intellectual disability, the basic principles apply to adults as well as children, and the book can be used by others involved with a child or adult with a developmental disability, for example, teachers, school psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech/language therapists, social workers, case managers with governmental agencies responsible for individuals with developmental disabilities, residential staff in group homes for adults with developmental disabilities, and vocational staff or job coaches working with adults with developmental disabilities."
