Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy is the second of four other items bound together in a volume titled Webster & others: dramas. This volume includes [1]: The Dutchesse of Malfy: a tragedy ... / by John Webster -- [2]: Appius and Virginia: a tragedy / by John Webster -- [3]: The white Devil, or, The tragedy of Paulo Giordano Vrsini, duke of Brachiano ... / written by John Webster -- [4]: North-VVard hoe ... / by Thomas Decker and John Webster. Several inscriptions, all in differing early hands and written in iron gall ink appear throughout this copy, including on the title page and within the margins of the text. One of two inscriptions on the verso of leaf I ́reads, "Mr. Edward Browne[?] Clarke to Mr. [...] Shedgwick at [...] in the county of Wicklow [...]" Head and tail edges are trimmed closely, resulting in some losses to signature registration. Pages 57 and 58 are wanting.
